Villa Danae belongs to a villa complex which has received multiple international awards for using local architecture influenced by the natural conditions and the materials available on the island.
The combination of whitewashed walls with gray local stone, the timber elements and the cubic, flat-roofed forms of the local architecture, are typical of the rural landscape outside the main cities of Crete. These “themes” were used as points of reference and inspired the design concept and implementation. Finally, the local way of life, which suggests the equal use of indoor and outdoor spaces, guided the planning of each individual residence.
Villa Danae is a spacious 415sqm villa, spanning on three different levels with 6 bedrooms, two living rooms, an indoor and an outdoor kitchen. An internal garden with plants and an open ceiling transfer a feeling of freshness and light into the house.
A small path leads to a private beach with its own floating deck, where guests can relax in full privacy.
